Does My Dog Really Need Obedience Training?
Some owners are unaware that all dogs need and should have dog obedience training for both the well being of the dog but yours as well.
What often happens is that a puppy is considered so cute and fun that obedience training is put on the back burner. Plus, the dog is so small that it is a little bit easier to control and exert your authority. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take much time for that to change and this is especially the case when it comes to big or giant dogs.
You probably know by now that dogs are pack animals and somebody has to be the leader of the pack. It won’t take much time for your new dog to start exerting his authority over you if you don’t establish yourself as the pack leader. The easiest way to do this is through solid obedience training and instruction.
Obedience traing can cover many different things but the basic goal is to get your dog to do what you tell him to do–when you tell him to do it. It’s actually not the difficult for most dogs but gets increasingly more difficult if they are not trained early or if you help them to develop bad behaviors early in life.
Sit, Stay, Come, Down, and Fetch are just a few of the more common obedience commands.
You can train a dog like a professional with easy at home dog obedience training courses.
